Artist statement
Textiles have always been an essential part of my passion and my work. From a young age, I have been working with textiles, and I am touched by the results that arise from the material itself.
I see the complex process of experimenting and creating as an essential part of my work, and it is of inestimable value to me. Dyeing and printing my own fabrics is an important aspect of this.
Mastering the material and the techniques offers me endless possibilities to express myself artistically. In this, the moment interests me more than the time I need for a project.
The end result is what counts.
The digging and researching in my personal life experience or that of others is often the starting point of my conceptual work. By delving into recognizable themes, I eventually arrive at the core, the origin of my work. The personal fate of people inspires me.
I’m fascinated to express abstract characters with color and shape, but I also like to venture into realistic or figurative motifs.
